I am so very grateful for the Holy Spirit. Even Christ said He needed to leave so we could receive it. Life is so intricately intertwined among us all. The gift of the Holy Spirit opens the door for us to respond to a need that we may not even be aware of by simply responding to an urging of the Holy Spirit.
A relationship with the Holy Spirit is similar to any other, it needs to be maintained. You can exercise your spiritual muscles to gain strength in that relationship. I have noticed in my life when I act on the smallest urgings, they are always worthwhile and they allow me to discern the Holy Spirit even more clearly next time. Alternatively, if I ignore the Holy Spirit on even the smallest urging, the opposite is true - I can feel myself declining spiritually and it becomes more difficult to hear those urgings.
Praise God for His infinite wisdom in providing us a Spirit to live within us that is a holy comfort and guide!
