Brokenness

I have a dear friend enduring the circumstances that have been in the face of my family. As she tells me her deep hurt, my heart painfully aches with her. Hope is found in Christ as we rest in His unchanging grace. In His grace. In His grace. Rejoice in His grace.

"For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ."
2 Corinthians 1:5

"O dear friend, when thy grief presses thee to the very dust, worship there!"

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39

"How can a trial be met which is independent of divine rule, and outside of the sacred
zone of providential government? It is hopeful when we find that all our ills lie within the ring-fence of omnipotent overruling."

"The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
Deuteronomy 31:8

"Be thou bold to believe, for He hath said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."In this promise, God gives to His people everything. "I will never leave thee." Then no attribute of God can cease to be engaged for us. Is He mighty? He will show Himself strong on the behalf of them that trust Him. Is He love? Then with lovingkindness will He have mercy upon us. Whatever attributes may compose the character of Deity, every one of them to its fullest extent shall be engaged on our side. To put everything in one, there is nothing you can want, there is nothing you can ask for, there is nothing you can need in time or in eternity, there is nothing living, nothing dying, there is nothing in this world, nothing in the next world, there is nothing now, nothing at the resurrection-morning, nothing in heaven which is not contained in this text—"I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
---Spurgeon

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need"
2 Corinthians 9:8

"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
Hebrews 4:16

On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest
frame but wholly lean on Jesus' name

On Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

His oath, His covenant, His blood
support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

When He shall come with trumpet sound
oh may I then in Him be found
pressed in His righteous alone
faultless to stand before the throne
