At the Altar

Going before God at the altar is so comforting for me. It does not matter whether I come rejoicing or in repentance, either way I know my Heavenly Father is eagerly waiting for me. Our home church has recently begun opening time at the end of each service to come to the altar and pray. My heart is glad to go every single week to kneel before God, lay my head in His lap to bear my soul and listen to the Holy Spirit speak in my heart. This morning in particular I was thinking of my Mom and how much she must be enjoying the presence of Christ. My experience at the feet of Christ is for now spiritual and somewhat metaphorical, and I rejoice beyond expression to think of her sitting there at His feet, to literally see and touch Him!
